Tom and Mickey Robins, along with family, friends, colleagues, consultants and City of Federal Heights officials, celebrated the groundbreaking of Robins Automotive on May 5th. Located at 2245 92nd Avenue the new 4,400 square foot center will be a mix of office & garage space and the facility will focus on auto repair and towing.
“This is a great day,” Tom Robins said at the ground breaking. “We’ve had ups and downs getting the project to this point, but with the hard work of a lot of the people here today, we are now getting underway.” Approximately 40 people at the event applauded loudly.
After ten years in leased space in Northglenn, the Robins are moving up to owning their own facility in Federal Heights. Robins has built a solid reputation in the North Metro area as the place to go for quality auto repair and superior service. The business has grown over the years, by mostly on word-of-mouth advertising. “All the employees at Robins treat people the way I’d like my mother, my wife and my daughter to be treated,” Robins said.
Mayor Joyce Thomas proclaimed, “On behalf of the City of Federal Heights, we’d like to welcome Robins Automotive to our community.”
The project was designed by Peter Ewers of Ewers Architecture and construction is expected to be complete by the fourth quarter of this year.
The new Robins Automotive is located just minutes to the west of an I-25 interchange at 92nd Avenue. Robins uses a slogan: “We’re never too far for honest, reliable care for your car!”
Within the past five months, Federal Heights has welcomed retailers Ace Hardware and SmashBurger to the city, as well as distribution space users, Cycla and SnowLion Books.
