CITY OF FEDERAL HEIGHTS
SNOW REMOVAL PLAN
The City of Federal Heights
priorities for snow removal are based on several factors. The City's primary
goal during a snowstorm is to keep primary & secondary streets open and
safe for the motoring public. Priorities are based on the following criteria:
traffic volume, proximity to schools, traffic signals, common routes for
emergency response vehicles, RTD and school bus routes, steep hills, dangerous
intersections, stop signs, narrow streets, and problem areas based on past
storms. All primary & secondary streets should be sanded and/or plowed on
an as needed basis during every storm. By using the following plan every
citizen in the city (excluding private mobile home parks) should be within 1 or
2 blocks of a street that is sanded
and/or plowed during each storm. Please refer to the attached map for an
outline of the snow removal plan.
