All career department members are certified at the Emergency Medical Technician Basic level (EMT-B) or at the Paramedic level (EMT-P) All of our Paramedics are Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
In 1993 the Federal Heights City Counsel approved the purchase of a new ambulance and the creation of a new branch within the Fire Department, the Ambulance Division. After meticulous planning and diligent hard work, the Fire Department began providing superior ambulance service at a competitive cost to the citizens of Federal Heights on April 1, 1994. Experienced and highly trained Emergency Medical Technicians and three paramedics staffed the division under the direction of Dr. Peter Vellman of St. Anthony Hospital.
